Hi All

Just wondered if anyone here own an Asus Vivobook? I have just purchased an VivoBook Core i3-3217U 4GB 500GB 11.6" and first impressions are good. I took out the HDD and replaced with an 128gb M4 SSD and its rapid. My worry is though after checking core temp the 2 cores show temps of 70c even when just downloading windows updates! I have done some digging and this CPU has a max temp of 105c so it has some way to go for sure but I was just curious if anyone may have a vivobook and if your temps appear to be the same?

Thanks guys

Liam

I've never checked the temps on mine, although reading a few reviews they do tend to run quite hot.
It's never been a problem for me though, even when the machine is left on for several days.

My wife bought the slightly cheaper Pentium version (about £50) and is delighted with it. I haven't really used it much, but can't say I have noticed it getting hot the few times I have - then again, it is a different CPU, so not really comparable :p

Thanks so much for that guys much appreciated. I have actually just RMA'd mine as it was hitting 90c and just freezing when opening 2 applications which is hardly that demanding.

Im looking at getting the HP Pavilion dm1-4400sa which is a little cheaper, im not fussed about losing the touch screen as I never used it and never even wanted it for a laptop :o
