I restored my laptop to factory settings last week so it has all of its original programs on it, including a load of hidden object games, I started one to see what it was like as i have never played them before and found it worryingly addictive:o
I know they are rubbish but I find them quite fun as something lite, i now usually have one on the go when i am playing poker on my other screen.

I have also downloaded a load of them to my mums laptop and she absolutely loves playing them(though i often get phone calls asking me how to start them, or turn the laptop on:rolleyes:)

Anyone else play or played them?

I have no idea what you're talking about...!

Can you give some examples?

Yeah sorry, someone linked to some earlier. They are basically just static backgrounds such as a bedroom/laboratory or whatever where a load of objects have been hidden in plain sight and you have a checklist of the items that you have to find in order to clear the room, that is all there is to it! Some of them can be quite tricky tbh and they often merge in to puzzle games as well, they are just a bit of fun really, hardly great games but they can get very involving. I played "Agatha Christies Death on The Nile" at work the other night whilst on a night shift and actually got quite in to it:o

I would have to agree with D3lirious, i see them as something of a guilty pleasure as well, though I would certainly defend them by saying that they can be great fun and i imagine are quite good for you as they give your brain a bit of a workout as well.

There are loads that you can try for free on here - http://www.shockwave.com/download/hidden-object-games.jsp. The Sherlock Holmes one is quite tricky
