Anyone play the Lords of the Ring 360 game??

I had a play through the demo and found the controls suprisingly good. Don't think i'll be buying it yet, as I've too many games to master before the likes of dead rising come out

Might pick it up second hand sometime or rent it.
 
Hmm I'm not sure about this now. I agree that the controls are excellent but I feel they're a bit too finicky, although its hard to get a system as good as that anyway tbh. The shadows completely do my head in everytime I move the camera. I'm too considering the rental route atm.
 
i posted over at xbox.com about the shadows and got flamed to death and then post got locked and edited due to some guy threating to kill me with my moaning, typical american guy response also, lol, why do the americans on xbox live have to be so arrogant and think there the best people on this planet, all mouth and no trousers!
 
Playing the demo on live.. can you only be the Orcs?

Although, you do get to use everything on the live bit so its a good draw.. pretty good fun too, if a little choppy in mega battles..

Cant help but feel that the game would be/is better on a pc though.
 
seems quite good/entertaining, but god damn! I think my last post here was whining about real time shadows being all pixelated, flickery and wrong on other 360 titles such as GRAW.

This game gets the award for the worst shadows ever, they really are 100% distracting and detract rather than add to the graphics.
 
Played the demo myself last night, decided not to open my copy of it till i tried the demo.

Not bad tbh, quite entertaining although not really my sort of game but the control system seem to be very well done. As for the gfx??, well i wasnt that impressed by the shadows..looked awful imho for a game thats really on a next gen console. Although i dont know if the full game also has these awful shadows etc.

All in all not a bad game but as i said not really my sort of game tbh so looks like ill be sending my copy back and maybe later ill pick it up when it goes really cheap or something.
 
Sent my copy back to gameplay this morning, had another bash at the demo and coudlnt justify the cost of keeping it. GFX wise its pretty poor, those shadows are atrocious tbh.
Also sent back Prey as i have way too many games to get through at the moment.
 
i juts had a 3 hour game on live, my eyes hurt. its all about the first 5 minutes
and powers also. you nedd to build up a army and split it in three, then you can set up bases all over the place. how is the full game, im very tempted atm.
And about the shadows, i didnt notice them till aboit 1 hour in and i think they are bad but not 'omg this game sux' bad.
 
If you look at that shadows they are really bad.. but i played the demo prior to it being ocuk'd and really they didnt bother me

the game, as with most strategies is not bad really..
 
Didnt like it so I auctioned it. I wouldve liked it on the pc i'm sure but just didnt really get to grips with a console control system. I'm gonna buy the pc version instead.

I also prefered the build point system of the first one with set positions rather than the free build on this one.

I found selecting and keeping tabs on units health way to much of a chore in the console version.

Not sure didnt play it for long enough, just glad I got it with the HMV 20% of voucher :D so for 31.99 it was worth a punt.
