anyone played Descent?

I've not chance to play it yet but I picked up star wars imperial assault which is based on the descent game engine with a few tweaks, its classed by many as descent 3.0 and apparently improves on a lot of issues with descent itself.

Based on this review and a few other I picked this up instead of descent as I really fancied descent.

On a side note I spend a few hours building an insert for the imperial assault box that makes it much easier for storage and a quicker setup... I'll take and post some pictures when I get it out next (although they are available on bgg as I used a template from there)

Not played Dungeon Saga so don't know how it compares.

Really enjoy Descent though. Does take a while to get through a quest (think we are on quest 5 in our group).
The mechanics work quite well but there are exceptions.

Lots of characters to choose from and if you have a good (fiendish) DM then its a good game.
 
I'd second Imperial Assault as a great game, bonus it has a 2 player Skirmish game as well. This Skirmish game now supports four players with the latest expansion Return To Hoth.

Additionally there is a lot less expansions to catch up on if like myself you feel the need to buy everything.
