Is it worth doing the side missions ?

Getting bored of them and you don't really seem to get much after doing them.

The experience is invaluable if you wanna get to Lv 60 in 3 games, plus there's achievements for going through most of the game with each party member, and you've gotta do virtually every side quest to get the achievement for the last chick to join your group, but aside from that there's no real benefit. I use them to improve my chances of getting nice gear.

Just started playing the first one, and done the whole Asteroid X57 side quest, which actually took longer than I expected. Enjoyable though, and gained a lot of XP.

I'm playing it now, I played it for hours on the 360 when it first came out and spent forever doing the side missions so never ended up finishing the actual game. This time I'm not bothering as I just want to understand the story before playing ME2.

Playing through at the moment, one of the cheap games I picked up on the steam sales at chrimbo. I'm doing all the side missions I can to boost both XP and get extra gear, loving this game, just hoping the second will be as good.

I played through ME1 for the first time just recently and finished it about 3 days after ME2 came out. I did all the side missions I could find and also the free DLC (Bring down the Sky). I was trying to make level 50 and managed to do so hitting the mark very early on the last zone (it stopped giving me XP at that point :(). Knew 60 was unattainable on one playthrough but was pretty happy to get to 50 for the extras to be carried to my ME2 game :D

Think I'll plough through them then, so getting lvl 60 gets you the most bonus for ME2?
Do you need to play though the whole game a few times to get to 60 ?

the side missions arent really important you might see some of the chars from them in me2 or get a email but nothing special
