Anyone read 'a scanner darkley' ?

Just seen the trailer for this film and it looks phenomenal, but as with a lot of films it was first a book. Just wondering if anyone has read the book and if it was any good? like I say the movie trailer looks amazing but the story sounds even better, if Philip K. Dick's other stuff is anything to go by we should be in for a real treat (check out 'Do androids dream of electric sheep?')

Yes. It's a good book, but I'll bet you a tenner that it's nothing like the film. If you've never read Philip K Dick, this probably as good a place as any other to start.

Yeah, read it. I hope the film is somewhat less dated than the book though. I found some of the hippie slang grating after a while. Good book though.
