I just received a letter from Transcom on behalf of eBay Europe S.A.R.L stating I never paid a sum of £27.89.

Has anyone ever received a letter like this before?

Surely eBay/PayPal contact you before hand if you haven't made a payment, all my payments come out via Direct Debit.

Shall I contact the agency or eBay?

Cheers!

Dispute the claim then.
I'd contact ebay directly, not this company, ask them to investigate potential scam, or to check their records.
Seems a long time to be chasing anything.

IGNORE it!

Do not contact them, write down the address on the back of the envelope and when the next one arrives do not open it and write, Return to sender. ;)

Yep, they have been chasing me for £250. Check my ebay monitor thread from last year.

eBay automatically refunded my buyer without my authorization so taking the advice from this very forum I unlinked my paypal account from ebay. That meant that I had the money and ebay tried to chase me for it.

They are still chasing me (or rather the company is).

It's ebays fault for refunding the buyer so they lost the £250, not me.

Similar thing happened to me 5 years ago.

Same thing happened to me for £45 and the little **** got refunded from Ebay and me.

Yet ebay still chased me for the £45 after me providing all the evidence to prove I had refunded the guy.

In the end I said screw you and closed my ebay account.

You can't unlink or close an account with outstanding fees

Cancel Ebay and Paypal accounts and renew debit card, tell the bank you lost/damaged your card and they will issue a new one.
This will make the registered one at Ebay and Paypal an invalid card and let them jog on. :D

F`em!
