Anyone recommend a codec pack?

Sorry, I have WinXP, not vista. Thanks for the fast response guys, is there an official ffdshow resource site?

in my previous experience, admittedly a very long time ago - i found that vlc displayed my videos a lot more "blocky" than ffdshow does. that's why i use ffdshow now.....

no doubt some bugger will be along in a minute to contradict me. :D

Got ffdshow and cccp now. Using ffdshow for its customisation at the moment though. Thanks a ton for the insanely fast replies!

ffdshow myself,

also got very advance but easy to use interface for all kinds of modifications.. personally one i like is auto levels.. no more stupidly dark carppy divx videos anymore!

if you're using vista 64bit, then use the 'vista codec package', otherwise you can't play xvids etc in mce

alllec, i'd take that sweary out (not a big one i know -might be a big one, i'm not sure! :p )

vlite for the win :), still not using vista myself, there seems to be a really dumb problem with certain 7900gt cards, they work perfectly in xp, but mess up on almost all drivers in vista, so until i get mine sent off for replacement, i'm happy with xp :)

can't say there's that much vista offers me at the moment, dx10 is the only thing that springs to mind

and yes, free-codecs sse2 ffdshow
