Anyone recommend a good optical mouse mat?

on a budget, nip down to your local stationary supply shop and buy one of those cheap hard plastic folder, rtheyre normaly like a clear frosted colour, rough on ione side, ansd slightly smoother on the other

like this kind of material

i know you can also get upto A2 sizes form particular shops.
if your feeling really gucci, nip to sainsburys and but a baking tray for less than a quid and stick it to one of those.

Wow, DYI mouse mat? I'll be trying that.

TBH OP, you can just use any decent mouse pad for optic mouse - preferably one with gell support for the wrist ( too much stationary wrist movement is bad...)

yea, i use a chambers english dictionary atm. it's wicked, but i've been using it a while now. the surface is worn and is going smooth = crap.

i am well up for doing the diy thing. i'd just hate to spend £27 on a pad and it be disappointed with it.

i'l decide after my exams i think. it's a read me lot for a mouse mat. damn right i won't be buying one for the rest of my life (as one review stated).

thanks people,
lewis

Have a google for silicone baking sheets, thats what I use, cost about a fiver, very effective for gaming and general use. Good size too.

Icemat!

i went through 2 Ratparz, the area i used developed smooth patches, the icemat's surface has stayed consistent with no shigns of wear in over a year!

baking tray sounds ingenious as does silicon idea....
