I need a new washing machine that is 12KG+ and £500-£600 pricewise. Our old Hoover one has given up after 8 years of service.
I've had a quick look and it's a minefield now with all the fancy terms and WIFI and Bluetooth
Thanks.
Edit* It was actually a Hotpoint not Hoover :o

LG have a series of options in the 13kg range. I can't post a link as one of the largest retailers that I'm using to browse the range also sell computers. They're offering the LG TurboWash™ F4Y513WWLN1 for £499 at the moment.

Thank you very much I hadn't seen any LG ones. Looks like a good recommendation. I will now spend a hour reading reviews etc :D

LG take your old one away and give you £100 on certain models + 10% off as a new customer iirc. Stay away from Samsung the seals fail quick, and aren't covered under warranty.

I have ordered it. The reviews were very good. It's coming Wednesday :) Ordered From ......... hey ho, let's go. As I have an account with them and have always used them for my appliances :D Same price as the other place suggested.
Miele are out of my budget but everyone I know who has one really rave about them.
Thanks for the help.

Came here to warn you off an Ebac. I bought one a few years back to try and support it as a local business and a great British manufacturing success story. Alas where they excelled with their dehumidifiers they failed with their washers. It is truely awful.

why is ebac awful ? heard a complimentary programme about them a month ago https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0028jv9

I'd be a bit concerned about getting a large 12kg if you wouldn't be filling it up - with the additional stress of uneven loads on a big drum - I've not seen anyone with a good solution
[swedish asko top loader I used to have - two bearings could take it but the Siemens, front loader, have now - less so]

Bosch is the answer.

12kg may be the requirement but often lighter loads of smaller duration are as good and more effective.

Caution about LG washing machines. Mine plays a stupid melody when it's finished, absolute nightmare if you're susceptible to earworms.

Not sure if they have larger versions but very happy with our Haier HW100-B1439N. No pointless bells and whistles and so far reliable.

We have an LG - it's ok and very efficient power wise but I wouldn't have another. I get a big discount with Haier so would probably go for one of those. Shame you can't get top-loaders in the UK as I think they clean clothes better.
