As topic, I know there is another program other than daemon tools that is apparently extremely light and simple (in other words without a million features / spyware / bloatware / whatever) but I can't remember the name off hand.

Anyone got ideas? :p

Never had a problem with Daemon tools myself. I use the Lite version.

daemon tools was/is good. I think they added some stupid 3rd party software into the installer (which you could choose not to install, but it was like a spyware toolbar thing).

Anyway, some games detected it and wouldn't run with it installed - I forget which.

Yep, the daemon tools malware can seriously affect your optical drive(s) performance, when I had DT installed I could only rip a bluray at stupidly low speeds, once I uninstalled DT and then gone the extra step of removing the terrible driver it installs, my ripping speed shot back up to respectable levels.

Virtual CloneDrive is far and away the best free virtual drive for windows right now.
