Anyone remember the old Vauxhall Adverts?

I wanna know what tune the fanfair kinda bit was from.

Basically, you would have the advert for the car, then the vauxhall logo would appear on the screen, and you would pan around from the top, similar to 20th Century Fox, with this fanfair going.

The tune had violins, sounded a little bit like Allegro, but not allegro lol. The bit was an excerpt, only about 5 seconds long. I think the tune also got the club remix treatment.

Its older than all of those IIRC. If its the one I'm thinking of, it came with the tagline "once driven, forever smitten", and was most likely used for the Cavalier adverts in the early-mid 90's.

Didn't it use Eric Claptons' Layla as a sound track? I vaguely remember it !

No, that would be the Cavalier. The Calibra is a coupe, something which the Vectra never was.

didnt vauxhall use the madonna song papa dont preach (the strings part) for one of the advert, this song then got a dance remix by 'progress'.

So that violin intro isn't actually part of any tune before madonna's single?

It sounds like it's bolted on to the start of Papa Don't Preach (Yes, I went an downloaded it

)

Spent some time last night looking at old vauxhall ads on youtube, and I can remember the bit you're talking about along with the tune, but none of the adverts had it!!!
