A friend is on holiday and sent me this photo.

Not seen them in ages. completely forgot about them yet was something we used pretty much every day years ago.

oh the simple things.



For those that don't know what it is. It was always attached to loaves of bread to seal it back up again.
 
They still use them here. They're marginally useful in that they're colour coded so you can at least tell how old your bread is before you buy it.

Also, betamax ruled in every single way. VHS becoming the norm was a travesty :mad:
 
at least you could reseal with the tags, with the yellow plastic things you have no choice but to twist the bag :mad:

I find that little plastic reseal pegs or plastic clip's that you can buy at the supermarket or in small shops are much better than these tags. They grasp and seal with very little room for error.
 
For some reason when I was about 5 I used to collect them, usually they were green or yellow but now and again you would get a light blue or brown one and then later they started to print best before dates and stuff on them.

Had totally forgotten about them....mad
