Anyone removed the centre console/arm rest in a MK5 golf?

I need to route the cable to my haldex controller to a spare blank underneath the climatronic in my r32.

The cable comes up into the boot from the rear diff, so I want to route it down the drivers side underneath the carpet and down the centre console/underneath the armrest.

Im in work so cant search very well at the moment so thought id ask here.

Is it hard to do? Any special tools? I have a torx set and trim tools which so far has covered most jobs.
 
From a brief check on ELSAWIN, it looks like it's just a case of a load of screws and clips.

No mention of special tools.

Looks quite involving though (not hard per-say, just time consuming), even more so if you have the highline interior (CD Changer in armrest / cooled center console / etc).
 
It does have both of those, but I dont think I will need to go much further than the dsg housing (think I can get to the place I want to mount it through where the dsg is)

Thanks for that, ill give it a try later now without worry of having to drive a car in pieces to work in the morning!
