Anyone replaced Tim on 480 devil?

Its still worth contacting Gigabyte, they should be able to give you a quote or I have even heard of people getting it done free.
I keep checking back to see if your TIM made much difference

It's caput, fans twitch once when powering on, but other than that, no signs of life at all, no bios beeps.

Presumably if I broke the CPU delidding I'd get a cpu error bios beeps?

Ok the new mobo is installed, with the delidded chip, one bios beep... Nice beep to hear as I bent the PCB on the CPU a bit trying to prise the lid off, so there was a chance it was damaged, but i clamped it back in the busted mobo whilst I was waiting for the new one to arrive.

The pressure seemed to do what I hoped it would and straightened out the PCB of the chip.

So I've got a working pc, next stop, OC to previous level and new paste on the gpu!

Ok results are in.
Idle temp - no real difference fom cpu 30c gpu 50c, maybe a degree or two on average.
Max Load temperature after cinebech, timespy, heaven, and real bench
CPU 72c
GPU 80c

So no notable difference for the GPU but delidding the CPU and repasting with kryonought saw a comfortable 10c drop under load.

Edit. The new board is exactly the same, same bios settings and f22 bios
