If so, what config do you run for network cards.

I've got the WAN interface as a card with two ports on, PCI pass through etc, and the LAN interface as a virtual one that is a tap on the bridge of eth0 (my onboard Ethernet port.

Regardless which virtual adapter I use (Virtio, Rtk, or e1000) I can't seem to get more than 20mbit down through the port.

If I swap to the other Ethernet port that has the WAN port on, I'm back at 50-60mbit.

Anyone got the slightest idea what I can do ?

So there is clearly something mad going on. I'd already seen those links, but thanks.

I put the iperf package on pfsense and ran some tests.

Host Machine to any of my other VMs running the same E1000 virtual network adapter - 1GBps in either direction

Host machine or any other VM to the pfsense VM - 150 ish mbits

So... I made use of the other physical port on the card to see what happened (its a HP card, Broadcom Extreme chipset) - 40-60mbits?!?!?

At a total lost as to what I must have wrong here.
