Anyone running an X1800XT/X1900XT in a SN25P? Which aftermarket cooler?

I'm new to the SFF world, I've got an SN25P arriving early next week and want to add my X1800XT and 4200 X2 to it, but still keep it relatively quiet.

The ATI stock cooler is pants, and I'd love to get something a bit quieter to keep it cool.

The AC Accelero doesn't fit without modding, so I'm thinking about the two Zalmans (VF700/900), has anyone tried this and is it possible?

Thanks guys :)

I used to use a vf700 cu on an x800xt in my sn25p. It *just* fits, Fins were about a mil away from the drive cage. The ram sinks fitted fine on both sides too.

Score!

Thats exactly what I wanted to hear :D Was it upto the job cooling wise?

Thank you :)

You're a star mate, thats really helpful! Think I'll slap one of those on there and enjoy the peace and quiet :D

Think the VF-900 needs some modding to get it to fit, so its little brother will have to do :)

Sorry about the vague details I just built a full system with an x1900xt its made me all but forget that weedy x800xt ;).

Oooh I misread your post, I thought you said you had the VF-700 on an X1800XT and it fit. I wonder if the X800 and X1800 have there GPUs in the same place in relation to the slot etc...

I sold my X1800XT in the end and bought a 7900GTO when it was at its cheapest. Much quieter and cooler, and a nice performance boost too.

Its tight but you can squeeze the card in but no need for any mods (just have to take the drive cage out, fit the card and then replace the drive cage). There's a little pressure on the card, and you probably won't be able to het the screws in the PCI slot bracket, but it works a treat.
