I have a DS4 (f7) and 2 x x1950pro's and I cant run NFS carbon, or medieval war 2 as they either crash out or run at half the speed of a single card, BF2 also crashes from time to time. 06 runs a dream though and gets 8033 marks

There is something wrong there somewhere as a pair of X1950Pro's should do better than that in '06. Do you have both ribbon cables connected?

yep, if I remove one or disable crossfire in CCC it gets about 5000, so it is working. I dropped the drivers down to 6.11 as there are issues with 6.12's. The system is a DS4 with a E6400 @ 3.2 and 2Gb Geil6400 @ 1000mhz

What's your problem with NFS:C? I had a problem where it wouldn't even install...Had to delete temp files and set it to run as Win2000.

2x x1950pro's don't wok on the DS4 in Crossfire, they only work on the RD580 chipset boards, and the new R600 chipset boards as they need both lanes running at 16x, which the old RD580 chipset, and the new R600 does, DS4 second slot only runs at 4x when using crossfire so 2x 1950pro's don't work in it.

You can only run Crossfire1 on the DS4, not the 2x which is the x1950pro's, as they need the full 16x bandwidth of both PCI-E lanes as said.

That's very annoying and not a little upsetting. Oh well, back to my 8800GTX solo setup I reckon

Yeah very annoying, they need the full 16x bandwidth of both slots for crossfire, they don't work on the old RD450 chipset either (the first Crossfire chipset), as they can only run both slots in 8x, x1950pro's need both slots operating at the full 16x im afraid, which is RD580 chipset, and the new R600 one as said. :(

new board do you reckon then? any recommendations? I have a E6400 and run it overclocked, the heatpipes on the DS4 really help with this.

why does 06 go from 5000 to over 8000 with 2 cards then?
