If so, you might be able to help me out. My employers still run W2K and we use Dell to supply our laptops and workstations, the D620's being the latest model of the former, but unfortunately (for our users) we've got issues with all manner of things, the most annoying (at present) being rubbish DVD playback.

We run Cyberlink PowerDVD v5.7 and the playback of DVDs varies from juddery to almost unplayable, depending on the disc. Dell have been no help at all ("We design and build these machines for XP") and using different versions of PowerDVD hasn't helped matters.

However unlikely it may be, do you have a Dell D620 that is running W2K? And if so, what software are you using to play DVDs?

And before anyone asks:

1. We're not moving to XP to solve this issue. Vista is next, but that's 18 months away.

2. We can't install Real Player or any other media player on these machines.

3. We might be able to try different DVD software, but it would need to be available on a multi-user licence and evaulated before being rolled out.

It's a long-shot, but thanks in advance for anyone that might be able to help!
