Just got a few good 1080p gaming options that I thought I could make some money back on, Not profit - just a return.
It's no loss to me, but I have been a little surprised at the lack of interest shown over eBay/marketplace/gumtree.
I was messaging guys selling similar builds on eBay the general vibe was bidding too low - they all ended up saying F-it - and keeping their gear.
I tried to give one of the 1080 rigs to a buddy who has been going on about PCs to me for weeks.
Guy wouldn't spend £40/50 on a tier C power pack to get him started.
Not a rant BTW guys just wondering if you've noticed any dips in sales regarding gear thats still viable?

I've recently sold a 5800x, 3070, 32Gb and Asus Rog E B550 with a corsair PSU and it was painful. First of all within 20 mins i had a few "to good to be true" offers offfering/demanding to pay via paypal with extra for postage - nah thats a scam for sure.
Then there was the many many who called offering to pay with cash, but never having an actual profile picture. - that felt iffy too

In the end I sold it a good bit lower than i wanted to a guy who had an active profile and wanted it for his wife. He paid bank transfer and everything checked out.

Ultimately, I think a lot of peoples experience is like this and i was very close to saying "f-it"and not selling the PC.

That does not help the used market.

You shifted it via facebook market place?

I found with gumtree you need to list £50/£100 above the actual price you want, other wise the low balls will blitz your inbox, so when they do bid your working with your fake buffer.
But - this might put off any actual bid.
There is no one way of selling something that works across the board.
In general for one of my rigs i want the standard lowest average 2nd hand on ebay for the GPU - the case is brand new with cosmetics so customer is paying that.
Every other part has 30/40% taken off remaining components.
I've actually tried selling a 7600 rig - I've got £945 total, immaculate case all parts less than 5 months old.
I dont think ATM I could even make £50 on it at least not with the selling weather in my area.

Feel like FB is full of people asking for absolutely deluded prices for their rigs.

Saw a 5600G on ebay with a 3070 for £1500 2nd hand - a bunch of rigs with super 1660s in the £800 range.
I think in some of those sales, the buyer is inexperienced happy tourist -what did i pay for it? right ill knock £100 off and jobs done, i mean minimum search is ebay complete listings then tot it up from there.
ATM for me its like buying someone a PC as cheap as I can possibly make it via 2nd hand purchases. Then handing it over to the buyer whos only gonna give me half of what I paid and inform me i got a good deal.
