Its a martial arts movie, and dam is moves are soo fine... anyone seen it?

If not, I certainly reccomend you do. The story line yes is slightly "Cheesy" but you just have to watch it for the martial arts ;)

Excellent film. The main character (i cant remember his name) is the next Jackie Chan tbh. He's brought out another film recently afaik. :D

Yep, good film, great choreography, and Tony Jaa has a lot of skill. I wouldnt call him the next Jackie Chan though. But he has a very promising future.

yep saw it a while ago

very very good fighting, it got me in the whole muay thai thing

Tom Yum Goong, his recent film was a bit of a let down (story wise anyway)

It's very very good. The special features are also very interesting (the fact they trained for two years to do some of the set pieces etc).

Tony Jaa imo could be Thailand's equivalent to Bruce Lee. He's a phenomenally talented martial artist and is already doing things that leave me scratching my head.

Tom Yum Goong was very good imo, and yes the story needed a lot of suspension of disbelief on behalf of the viewer, but the MA were just as stunning.

superb film :) one of my favourites. the making off extras are well worth watching too

tony jaa was a gymnast wasnt he ? does some amazing stuff in the film

He's not much of an actor but his stunts and martial artistry are amazing. Tom Yum Goong was poor story-wise (someone would have just shot him!!) but the fight at the end with the Mr. Smith lookalikes was very good - not easy to watch as every move seemed to involve against the joint breaks :shudder:

saw it ages ago when it was a thai release with uk subs. class.

watched kung-fu hustle last night. so funny!

I've seen it and thought it was awesome. The stunts he does are amazing, puzzles me how he does most of them!

Cheesy storyline indeed, but it's still a good movie.

It is a great film from the martial arts perspective but as mentioned the storyline couldn't be any more generic if it tried. Kung Fu Hustle was a more enjoyable film overall for me though :)

The boy has got some moves.
But thats it, he has "some" moves.
and those some moves are diplayed, over and over and over again in Ong Bak.

Very true, the slow motion from 3 different angles did start to get rather annoying, it was impressive the first time but I don't need to see it so repeatedly.

Fact. I can't quite understand the fascination with Ong Bak. Sure, he's a decent martial artist but I didn't see anything original in the film. Some of the end fight scenes were laughable; rather than just kick someone in the head when they're lying down he'd do a triple spinning twist with a pike, for no good reason, and finish off with a strike that looked far less painful.

I didn't enjoy much when I saw it, as mentioned already its the same repeated many times.

Still has a long way to go to beat HK cinema imo ;)
