Anyone seen the new BE website?

The website is shocking, but in all fairness, they are the fastest ADSL provider in the country.

£21.50 for 22Mbps down and 2.5Mbps up and a static IP?! bargin!

I think it's kinda funny, they're obviously trying way too hard to be "down with the kids". Send us ur msgs YO!

it's a shame as I was going to be signing up with Be when I move into my flat next week. That site is making me think otherwise. My 4 year old cousin could do a better job with paint. It's like the old tripod or angelfire sites you used to make in the 90s xD

Dont let that put you off. They are great. They estimated my line at 16meg i am getting a 20meg connection and 2meg upload. Well worth the money.

the only thing that puts me of moving to BE is I'd have to fork out £120 odd quid to BT for reconnection, theres a line in my house and it used to work, they just need to flick the damn thing on again, and take an 18 month contract on their line rental at the same time.

That said, I don't think their target audience consists solely of 22-year-old graphic designers :D Wonder what the corporate thinking behind it was.

My thoughts exactly. As a web developer myself, I quite like it's old school retro flavour. As you said though, the mass majority of people aren't like us and I certainly wouldn't have created that for them.

Even by old school retro thats hideous...

I've seen bad... thats worse... a semi retro styling would prolly work for them, but it needs a lot more style and a certain level of aesthetics...

Still as a marketing tool its certainly got them a lot of attention that you prolly couldn't get by paying for it,

Reading the BE forums, there are people making post after post about how they don't like it. I seriously wonder what is wrong with these people. Sure, let them know you don't like it but why go on and on about it, it's not like the website's aesthetics affect our line stability or something.

I wouldn't be supprised if they lost a lot of new business from it, it doesnt look like an ISP website, it looks like a graphic portfolio and a pretty awful one at that.

Well they fix their certificate but it looks like the teletext my grandfather used to check the horses on

I've got a nineteen year old brother doing web design but if any of them handed in something like that after their first term they'd be dropped so tell me (serious question), what exactly do they mean by kids?

I think its growing on me... I don't like any of the changes of background yet though... I wouldn't buy broadband off them if I hadn't already been doing so...
