Its a bit of a wierd one this; Im not sure yet (haven't had a chance to try my other HDD with a loaded OS) whether its software or a hardware issue.

After a hang the other day (playing around with system tools etc), I noticed the side bar has a section of corruption at the bottom; almost like bars flickering as it fades in, and looking a little funny when faded in, now it only does this at the bottom; does it in exactly the same place if I swap the sidebar to the other side, and mostly goes away on other colours *you can still see it flickering in bars a little*, kinda hard to explain. The annoying thing because I can't see it on anything else, I dont consider it serious; it just p***es me off haha

Normally I'd instantly think it was a screen flaw and talk to the supplier, however it only seems to do this with the faded in vista sidebar, not on anything else, so could it be a file corrupt somewhere?

hmm I assume you can't capture it via a screenshot?

Hard to picture just what is going on. Are you sure it's only happening when the vista sidebar?
If you take a screenshot and it does not appear then I would imagine that it's a display issue but I could be wrong.

Thats the thing, it doesnt show up as well on the rest of the screen, but if I take a printscreen, I think it does show up, its just clearer at the bottom of the screen (possibly due to higher backlight bleed), kinda hard to explain, I might take a video when I leave work later.
Thats why I wanted to try my other OS HDD to see if it does the same. Will be typical if its a fault and the laptop has to go back!

Bah definately a hardware fault; its even more obvious with the drivers uninstalled as the sidebar covers more room.

Will have to have a word with the suppliers tomorrow, looks like its RMA time. :(
Thanks anyway.
