anyone spec me a £100 pc?

i need a mob, ram and cpu. i have everything else. will be used for downloads and football manager. Id like to overclock the cpu if at all possible. any ideas?

That is a tight budget but you can squeeze in a entry level Core 2 Duo chip (excellent overclocker) and 2GB Ram for £125. Keeping to 1GB will save a little but worth the extra keeping to 2GB.

This might be an occasion where going for B Grade makes sense, the 945 chipset isn't fantastic and you'll probably have to supply your own cables but it may be a little bit more capable than the ASRock.

B grade makes sense.
I just built up a server for £164 (That included a 500Gb drive and 1Gb ram) on an AMD chip.

Thats a good little mobo. Of course, no cables, or even a backplate. Just the board. But its packed with features. Even got SLI on it. Not bad for £29

Edit: You can get a nice overclock on the stock cooler. Those C2D chips run nice and cool.

You should be able to do some overclocking with any of the systems in here but probably not a huge amount although for the price you can't complain too much.

I've heard form various people that there are more Intel cpus that overclock easily these days tthan there are AMD cpus. I mean don't get me wrong they'll still overclock OK, but those Intel E2XXX series really do overclock well. Just a shame you can't get a decent Intel mobo for the sort of price you can get that AMD mobo for cos if you could you'd be on a winner
