Anyone still have Unreal Tournament - Original?

Found the Original CD the other day so decided to install it. Ran under Compatibility XP SP3 and Admin and it works fine. I have been playing through the game with only the last man standing left to unlock. What a blast it is. Yeah the GFX are a little dated but the pace of the game and the taunts the bots say are great fun.

I did a search of some servers and there seems to be a few people still playing. Not hundreds like it was back in the day but still has a following.

Anyone fancy a blast later maybe?

Got it on Steam in the Unreal pack aaaages ago. Still a great game. We play it at LANs still

When I set it up and it asked me to choose video card select show all devices and select Direct3d support. That then gives you the option of choosing the resolution in preferences in the game menus

We used to have a server about 6 years ago. Who would be up for that again? It was amazing.

Its just an up-to-date render for the game.

The patches you will need to play online. The latest version is 451 you may already have it.

Yes, but most servers will kick you from the game, anti cheat protection.

Just found the extras disc if I install that can I still join multiplayer games? or was that what piKe was on about?

Yeah I still play, to those asking about video options you should use Open GL which has the best quality and will let you choose any resolution you want.

If you start a sp game you will probably be moving too fast but its cured when you go online, for some reason.

I play insta ctf on a few custom map servers, its good fun.

openGL you say!... I have patched to the latest one anything else I might need to do?

Edit: just tried with OpenGL. seemed a bit better actually.

maybe we should all patch and try a Ocuk game later?

I had the original but unfortunately lent it to someone who didn't give it back so re-bought it in the Unreal Anthology however I now have 2 copies of Unreal Tournament 2004 and Unreal 2 as I had originally bought them standalone
