Every form I visit, there seems to be no mention of these cards anymore - only the latest gen.

Who still owns these cards? Still happy with the performance? Hard to think they were £300 at one point!

I have a 2500K and 6970, these last gen top end cards which can be picked up for around 100-130 these days, paid £150 for mine over a year ago, and still really happy with the perormance.

Not been tempted by the 7 series at all although an overclocked 7850 is probably the bargain hunters choice rather than a 6970 at current prices.

Of course that may change when the next gen console ports start to appear and heavy tessellation become factors.

A friend of mine has a XFX 6950 and he's still pretty happy with it. It's still a capable card really.
I think he wants to upgrade to a newer Intel platform instead of the older AMD platform he's on now though.

I run a 6970 and have had no desire to upgrade. I'll probably grab one of the next wave of cards.

I've got crossfire 6950s and am thinking of going crossfire 7950s or 7970s undecided. The performance is ok in most games, but crysis 3 and some others i'm having to drop settings... just not sure i want to spend the money :P

I run 2 x 6950 HIS IceQ X Turbo 2GB in crossfire mode, only figured out to unlock the 6970 shaders last night both of them unlocked and I have upped the clock & memory speeds to 900/1375, they play far cry 3 averaging about 40-50fps with max detail settings on, the only thing I have been disappointed with them is playing crisis 3 they tend to struggle a bit! but everything else I play I can play on max detail settings and they seem pretty good, I have been debating whether to upgrade or not, or should I wait till the 8000 series

I was using a 6950 flashed to 6970. Picked up a 2nd late last year for crossfire under water. Plays most games fine for me. Cant see my self needing to upgrade any time soon which is a nice thought.

It will depend of the type of game you play!
I have a 6950 unlocked and overclocked, plays all my games with all the bells and whistles turned to max.
I was thinking of upgrading to a 7950, but I don't see the point at 1080p.

Running a Sapphire dual bios 6950 2Gb flashed to 6970 here. Picked it up in the MM for £100 complete with block and original cooler. Starting to struggle now and have had to turn things down in some games. Probably going to pick up another for some crossfire action as it's the cheapest upgrade option for me.

7950 CF offers much better performance for the price than 7970 CF, 7950's are only around 5% slower clock for clock, yet cost about 30% less (giving you a nice saving to upgrade other components/beer money :))

I have a single sapphire 6870. Really looking to upgrade now, cost me £120 and it was good. But now, since it doesnt really overclock, some games are really lacking. Looking to get a 7950 now.

i have a 6950 sapphire dual fan edition, and im very happy with it still, average of 60fps on most games i play tbh, not saying it will play every game on ultra, but the ones i play it will

I still have crossfire 6950's and I'm happy with them. Plays everything at acceptable levels for me. Not even considering upgrading to this gen, will see what the next one holds.
