Anyone still play Planetside?

Actually, its pretty lively now, though thats simply because the two US servers have been merged into one, and the population of Werner mostly went there as well, since thats where the big fights are. Apparently there's going to be a graphics update soon, with minimal performance loss.

If you're moving to Gemini and don't have an outfit, I'm in a fairly good one. We don't have massive strat things, and we aren't super organised, its just for a bit of fun. We've got a teamspeak server, which is just used for chatting and when gunning vehicles really. We're currently VS, but are going to move to NC soon since we were NC on werner and prefer it :3
Most recent update was a pretty major buff for the TR, they upgraded the MAXs, giving them a capacitor like the other empires which could be used to speed up RoF and (I think) reduce the CoF for as long as it lasted. Essentially locking down without the whole immobile thing. They can still lock down, though.
Its worth at least trying it for a month, worst case just stop the sub again.
Its only really worth playing on Gemini (The US server) now, since most Werner players moved there as thats where the fights were. If you're ok with US pings (I get about 100, and its perfectly playable) then its going to well populated in our time zone, and gets busier late evening when Americans are at home (And afternoons/evenings at the weekends).

Not played it in at least a year now. It just got boring really, especially as the population dropped off. The entire BFR thing kinda put me too too. It's still a pretty fun game and is still the only one of its kind. Just kind of old now!
I'd definitely fire it up again if they're giving it a graphical update. Tried it a few months ago and was a bit shocked at how old it was looking. Mind you, there's still been nothing remotely like it since, it was years ahead of its time.

Yes, unfortunately you have to start over, but its worth it for the fights. And I've not personally had any problems with a 100 ping on the server, though I'm a cloaker/sniper/sparrow max, so don't really get into situations that are ping intensive. And they've redone the incentive system so you get bonus bep if you aren't playing as the empire with the most pop (seems to be NC on gemini at the moment) you get 1% more bep for each 1% difference there is between your empire and the empire with the most pop. Meaning if you're on 28% NC are 38%, thats 10% bonus.
