I am :D

Was considering an upgrade but I've managed to get another 0.4ghz (now 4.4ghz) out of my i7 875k which has given me an extra little kick.

Just can't bring myself to shift this stuff on as I'm not convinced that an upgrade will give me a huge performance boost although I wouldn't mind having USB 3.0 and Sata III.

I'm also slightly emotionally attached as this CPU & motherboard (MSI P55-GD80) as they have been the best and most reliable combo I've ever owned.

Anyone else as sad as me?

Yeah I'm on an i5 760 @ 4ghz.

Only downside is the lack of USB3 and one of my RAM slots has packed in so I'm running single channel lol. Still plays all my games at max settings so see no problem really.

I was thinking of going for Haswell-E to see me right for the next 5 years, but will try and wait for Skylake if I can I think.

Still loving my i5 750, running it at various different speeds (day to day its 3.2 undervolted, doing anything hard it's 3.8, can get 4.0 but not convinced of stability, temps too high)

Gave it a nice shiny SSD and it's super nippy once again :)
sure, no sata 3 may limit max rates but it's not a major issue in most use.

yeah if your on socket 1156 i5 quad or i7 or anything on 1366 its not worth upgrading yet - not for gaming anyway! maybe when games are more multicore optimized and there's an affordable 6 core i7 (sub £300) or amd finally make something competitive at the high end ie another 1 - 2 years!

Mine has both usb3 and sata lll lol

I'm waiting for the next round of upgrades at least, will see if it's worth an up grade then, but I doubt it

From what i can see from other posts if gamings your thing at least wait til ddr4 and haswell-e if that is going to support it.

Got i3 540 and i5 760.

One of the boards has USB3 (Gigabyte H55N USB3) but I agree, it'd be nice to have SATA3.

No plans to upgrade yet.

I have Sata 3 but with 1st gen i5 it was a last minute bodge-on and is overall slower than the Sata 2 controller. So in a nutshell completele ****.
My SSD is still very fast and I bet I am only losing a small amount of performance on Sata 2 compared to a good Sata 3 controller.

I am running an i5 750 @ 4ghz, with 16GB ram 1600mhz (paid £30 for it in some crazy OCUK offer!) and use an OCZ Vertex 4 limited to Sata 2.
My graphics card is by far the limiting factor in games.
I really can't see myself getting a new 'heart' of the PC anytime soon.

Due to slow technology advances since 2010 I see no need for a new rig anytime soon.
I even played the new Tomb Raider at 1200p maxed out with a small touch of AA & AF and my graphics card only stuttered a little.

Currently resisting the urge to upgrade from my i5 750 and MSI P55-GD80.

The main reason for the wanted upgrade is to downsize my case to mATX although for that I need a new mobo and in turn, cpu :(

So instead I've just bought an R9 290X, we'll see how long I last before ordering the Parvum Systems S2.0 mATX Case and needed parts :p

I certainly don't feel like mine is struggling at all. I was even running 5850 xfire until very recently and probably would still be if one of them hadn't died. Using a single GTX670 now and am still very happy.

I've been running 2x SSD's in RAID 0 for a while as a bit of a test and I'm pretty impressed by the speed boost its given me.
