Anyone Still Use Play.com?

I haven't used them for years, since they were bought out and their prices went up. Everything they sell is sold by Amazon but cheaper.

Used to use them all the time, then they got bought out and then they changed the laws in jersey so the prices went up. Now I just use Amazon for anything I would have got at Play before

i got a sd card for my new camera off them for tad cheaper than amazon
I also ordered a steel book from them a few weeks back, again, cheapest

i only use them when they are cheaper than amazon

i have a 1% cash back cc card with them which gave me my memory card free

Used to use them all time, along with likes of cdwow. Not used them in years. Everything they offer would now be done via Amazon for me.

Same - used to buy all kinds of tatt from there when i was a student; t-shirts, dvd's, etc. Seem to have gone by the wayside now unfortunately.

it is a shame they are a market place now, good trustworthy deals are hard to find..you have to look at the seller

i am tempted to switch my play.com MBNA visa for a Amazon Mastercard (which i think still offers 1% cashback (for when my AMEX card isnt accepted)

They were the first online shop i ever used, having been a little dubious about online shopping at the time and was talked into trying them by a friend who was a big fan of online shopping and the savings over retail stores (i'm talking a long time back ofc).

Stuck with them for a long time, not that i really buy that much stuff anyway, but then tried Amazon and like many others not looked back.

Haven't used them in years, their prices are so uncompetitive. I'd rather give my money to OcUK for computer tech and have decent backup. For everything else I go to Amazon as first port of call, and then other smaller vendors for other stuff that isn't main stream (like tactical vests/pouches etc).

just logged in and the last order I have is from 25 May 2013, from their marketplace.

there is odd item or 2 they have cheaper, sometimes even the large business sellers have items on play/amazon marketplace listed cheaper than their own websites.

I placed 4 orders (£10 average each) on play in 2013
at the same time I probably placed ~40 orders with amazon :)

I used to use them quite a lot - probably equally with Amazon because both had good prices for different things - but for the past 2-3 years I've been using Amazon exclusively for stuff like Blu-rays, music, random tech, other bits and bobs, etc.

Yeah, play got slower and more expensive. The owners bailed out when they lost the Channels Islands tax loophole. After that, it just became a marketplace selling from other smaller companies, so why bother? Plenty of better, cheaper, faster places to shop.

Uuummmm, why is this thread still open? Play.com sell hardware we sell on here. I didn't think it was allowed?

Got some trousers off there two weeks ago from "thehut" group. Same price as they charge on eBay but free p&p so £3 less in total.

Can take a bit longer sometimes but sometimes have good deals.
