Anyone still use their powerball?

I lost my string and I can't start it without. :'(

Hold the ball with your right hand, spinner up. Dig you thumb knuckle deep against the spinner closest to you, push down and away hard and that should get it spinning enough to start it up. You can spin it fast enough to light up with your thumb - soon as you see lights you're away. :)

no, i can burst around 12500 now. I can sustain probably 10000-10500 for 30 seconds.

Pretty much the same as that, I'm seriously impressed with people that can sustain the 12/13K spins for the whole 30 seconds. My forearm burns a beaut after just spinning it up that much!

I could manage around 12k for a minute on my right hand a while ago. Lost my powerball though, and not sure I can be bothered getting another one. Rowing does ten times what powerball could ever do :).

Ohhh, I'll try that tonight, thanks.

Mine doesn't spin very well now it's full of fluff. My dad had a go last christmas and thought he would try starting it off by rolling it on the carpet instaead of using the chord......fool.

Got to around 13500 when I first started using it.

If only i could afford a decent rowing machine. By decent i mean something like a concept/ concept II (sp)

The 250hz £7 is fine. It wont matter how big yu are, its all about technique at first and wrist strength. Later on forearm strength will be handy as your grip improves.

A few mates who have used mine have poor grip so cant hold it, even if they can spin it quite fast

Powerball is cheap and fun. Rowing is hard and not so fun! I managed a 10k row once at the gym, that was my best. Think it took me about 45minutes, no chance i would be able to do that now.

I went for a run last night, only 1.5miles but i felt like my lungs were about to come out!

I find rowing the easiest of cardio exercises

Still got mine, managed 10700 the other day.

We gotta start this competition again some day. First to break world record, wins! :D

Yup still got mine (green)- manage about 11.5k these days but I did manage just over 12k before I wiped the memory by mistake :/

My housemate has the red powerball and can't even hit 10k!

How does this work? Is it just a case of holding the ball? - does the ball 'vibrate' with the spinning?

no, its a gyro. The rotate our wrist and the gyro goes against the way you rotate. The faster you spin the faster the gyro rotates so is harder to hold

Old thread but I only just got into the whole powerball thing as got one for xmas. I only really use it once or twice a day at the mo for 5 minutes or so. Mainly quick bursts to see my top rpm as I compete with my bro hehe. We are both very even despite his better shape/muscle than me. Currently we can both hit around 11600. My right arm is ridiculously stronger than my left though. Left I can sometimes hit high 9's. I broke my left wrist years ago which doesnt help. I reckon I could easily hit 12k after more use and practise. If I went down the gymn too then who knows.
