Anyone still using media centre?

Live/Recorded TV in our main living room runs off WMC with everything else driven by emby (previously known as MediaBrowser).

I'm keen to drop WMC altogether but finding a stable user friendly alternative is proving a challenge, everything I had looked at previously was just flaky or required continued maintenance to keep it running.

Been using WMC with Plex for years and it works great. Mine runs 4 DVB-T2 tuners and 1 DVB-S2 tuner. The kids record everything and I don't remember the last time anyone watched anything live.

VLC Player, no need for media centre these days. OR XBMC/PLEX.

I got it to work OK with a PCTV Systems DVB-T2 292e TV Tuner. I watched the CL Final on HD fine via Kodi & NPVR. Unlike Media Center. I won't shed a tear for its passing, I had no end of problems trying to configure it on W7.

I would recommend plex over kodi, it does a much better job at finding meta data.

Emby and media portal just aren't as good imo.
