Is this like the thing where if you sleep for too long you feel as tired as if you don't sleep enough?

Personally I think this is just a weeks worth of bad sleep catching up on me. It's still frustrating though, I literally do nothing but sit on my arse, I shouldn't be tired.

Does anyone else get this?

Sitting doing nothing does that. You have become lazy. Exercise, this will give you much more energy in your life.

The less you do the more tiring simple tasks are so if you sit doing nothing all day, then you walk to the shops you would be more tired. If you are fit and active it wouldn't tire you, this make sense?

Is there a reason why you 'do nothing' if you don't mind me asking?

Yeah I suffer from constant fatigue, self prescribed myself Modafinil.

My life became awesome in about 30 minutes of it kicking it, I realised I've never been awake my entire life....

I exercise, eat healthy try maintain good sleep hygiene.

Think I was plagued with chronic fatigue/bad genetics. If only I had that stuff in uni and when I applied to medical school, I would have come out without my desired grade. I spent my teen years nackered....

Surely stuff that makes you feel "high" has a major downside that you will hit a "low" Or this is just a thing in drugs not in proper medicine?

For me, few hours of high end up with a day of low where you wanna curl up in a ball and cry.

There is no such thing as doing "nothing" - even when inactive your body/mind are still carrying out critical functions, so even the act of contemplation or reflection may be the things draining you - which you notice physically because of a kinda psycho-somatic response (IMO). Give your brain time to process all the stuff, go out for a walk and clear your head.

No Modafinil doesn't work like that.

Not high just clear headed and awake all day very rarely do I get drowsy/tired now at all. I used to want to nap all the time in the afternoon it really got under my skin.

I'd also sleep 8hrs get up feel tired still.

I find myself tired if I have a day doing naff all, although it's not a nice tiredness like after a long day working, it's more of a fuzzy-headed slow-brainedness.

not exactly true.

I've been feeling tired nearly all week from getting only 7 hours sleep a day , I need at least 9 hours and whilst I'm not exactly "fit" I do cycle frequently although not for about a month thanks to the rain.

even when I do a few hundred miles in a month I don't feel like I have more energy than when I'm lazy

constant abuse of almost anything will make you feel low if you don't have a recovery period.

drink 10 cups of a coffee a day for a week ;)

Get up early, and get a hobby to keep you busy. Everyone feels tried in the morning but it soon passes.

I get 6 hours a night and that's plenty for me. I need more hours in the day.

I think a tv show once informed me that too much sleep is poisonous, and that the chemical that keeps you immobilised is mildly dangerous after 9hrs.

See your doctor if you always feel tired. Could be hormonal imbalance or something similar.

Regular exercise may help.
