Anyone transfer Video8 to DVD?

I've got a Panasonic DVD recorder but my Video8 camcorder has given up the ghost. Does anyone know of any decent companies who transfer analogue tapes to DVD or perhaps even a source for good/cheap video8 player?

I have got 2 do the same using vhs compact but if you have a decent graphics card can't you plug it into that and then just capture (and convert)?
Oops! Just realised that by "giving up the ghost" you ment it was broke

You may find it more cost effective to buy a new Digital 8 camcorder and then sell it afterwards.

yup totally agree
afew years ago my top of the line canon eye focus camcorder died and i had like 4 hours of xmas and kids birthdays to transfer,one place wanted about £50 per tape :eek:

so purchased a second hand cheepie did the copying.sorted
