I’m going to have a 3hrs10 after arriving at Tom Bradley at LAX, before boarding a domestic flight from Terminal 7.

It’s not all on one ticket so I’ll need to do customs etc, collect my bag and come out. Then find my way to Terminal 7 which I’ve never been to before.

I’ve arrived into LAX plenty of times and totally aware it’s a hellscape at the best of times. Apparently there’s a shuttle, or I could just walk. Anyone done this by any chance?

According to some googling I can come out and walk in the same direction as the traffic. Which sounds.. vague!

Presumably you're "fenced" in so you can't wander off. I usually prefer walking between the concourses if possible to stretch the legs, plus avoids being crammed into busses/trams, usually do this at T5.
I’m not “connecting” though so I feel like I’ll get my bag and exit the way I normally do into a waiting car… but instead walk along ‘somewhere’ until I find terminal 7

Just to update. This all went without a hitch. My main flight was on time (early even) so I had the full 3hrs to kill. Sauntered around to the other terminal area, got through security in 10mins and kept walking around so as not to fall asleep :p As ever with airports, I’d imagine if you had a bit less time, or the queues were a bit longer at security then it would get very stressful very quickly.
