Anyone tried the American version of Mountain Dew?

Usually in the US, High Fructose Corn Syrup is used in preference to sugar.

This and I thinks there’s an additive or two in the Yank version that U.K./EU doesn’t allow.

Foul tasting gunk either way.

It tastes a bit different. The UK stuff is more like sprite whereas I'm sure the US stuff probably glows in the dark.

Yes and it tastes better (not better for you though!), the same applies to other drinks, particularly Fanta.

Tried it when I was in SF during the first half of 2020. Absolutely awesome tasting compared to the Uk one, quite how to describe it though I am not sure. I am not a fizzy drinks person and I've avoided them for many years now but before all that I always Dr.Pepper and Mountain Dew here in the Uk.

I've tried the American version of fanta and coke and it does taste different like it has a water down syrupy texture taste can't describe it but it tastes good!

You can actually buy the American stuff, from some select UK websites. (American candy and soda websites) also, the American cans are 355ml compared to the UK/EU cans which are 330ml

Edit - I actually much prefer the American Mountain Dew too. It tastes great.

You can but they cost £lol like peanut butter M&M's which are also super delicious.

Mountain Dew:
Target US: $5.79 for 12
UK: £22 for 15

M&M's

Yep. They do come at an inflated importation price.. nice for a treat now and again. I wouldn’t be buying them and drinking them regularly though

It’s the Brominated Vegetable Oil that means they can’t sell it in Europe. And as we carried over all EU legislation I suspect its technically illegal here as well.
