anyone tried to backup a wow install folder?

im going to format my pc later and wanted to know if its possible to just drag my wow install to a external drive and put it back after?

i know a lot of games are fine with this but i have had a few that wouldnt work after

Yeah it is possible, done this many times before.

Ye just copy it all and run the Launcher.exe to load it, I've had the same WoW install since release and it's been copied to other PC's etc endless times.

it is indeed i have 2 copies of my wow folder one on an external and one on im internal storage drive, so much quicker to just drag it across to teh ssd than trying to redownload it
