Anyone tried wireless earbuds with VR?

Every now and again I have another search for audio solutions for my Rift S.

I had a pair of Koss KSC75's adapted to hook on to the head band for a while, and they worked well - but I got fed up with the fitment.

And I get very hot playing something like Beat Saber, and find that something over my ears exacerbates that.

So, I wondered about some wireless earbuds - given that I am tempted to buy a pair ready for a long haul flight next year anyway.

The idea would be to get one of those mini bluetooth transmitters to plug into the headset. But how good are they? Could I expect a good result by using one of those with say some Sony WF-1000XM4's?

And if anyone has experience with this, can you recommend a transmitter?

Tried the WF XM3 and Samsung Buds2 with the Quest 2. Too much lag on games like beat saber. Just get some cheap wired buds.

Cheers. That wouldn't work with the Rift S, since it connects via USB, not via 3.5mm jack though.

Thanks @Mujja for your experience. Do you reckon the latency was down to the earbuds themselves though - or the transmitter you used?

I also wondered whether you would even need to connect the transmitter to the headset - you could run it from the computer instead if you had the computer set to mirror VR audio.

How do you connect them? BT dongle? Is your headset a Quest2, so your dongle is connected by USB? Or a Rift so it's connected via the 3.5mm jack?

sorry , i have a quest 2 and a pico 4, just use the inbuilt BT without issues

i leave Virtual desktop on default settings and im happy with wireless PCVR

No - just trying to better justify spending a ton on some earbuds becasuse they would be used for multiple purposes - both travelling and VR, but not at the same time. :)
