I bough t some uxes elsa glasses (nvidia and CRT only) which at the moment don't seem to work but the idea seems great (the nvidia drivers flicker the image to pan left/right while the glasses turn one lens on(see through) or off (dark) so each eye see's something different and your brain puts it together as 3D - quite clever...

anyway anyone used real 3d in gaming.... comments....

I have a set.

Some great looking results with some applications(games) but just unplayable in the real world.

Have to use the correct video driver/3D driver to get them working.

Still got a set which I used with my CRT previously. They really need 120Hz refresh rate to be any good (60Hz per eye). At anything below the flicker was annoying (to me).

No use with LCDs (though you can now buy stereo LCDs) though.

Neat to demonstrate (wow) people. Not very useful for games.

What's up with using them in games? sounds like it may look nice but not any good to use...? What about that headset that has 2 displays built into it (quite expensive though) any better?

There must be something in it if Nvidia is spending time coming up with renewed support for it? What are the improvements of the new proposed system over old other than new graphics cards will work.. (but won't they all suffer as everyone uses LCD's now (except me LOL)

I paid £7.99 though there seems to be a fault with them - the seller is sending out anoter pair. I watched a 3d movie (in an imax) with colored glasses and the effects were amazing - no reason why my pC can't look as amazing or better since 3d games have everything mapped out in 3d already...

Got a pair with a graphics card a couple of years ago. Used it once for about 10 mins, took me about 2 days to get over the migraine it gave me.

Part of the issue with using them in games was that to get 120Hz and a usable 60Hz per eye you had to set a much lower resolution than optimum.

With the next generation of 120Hz LCDs that may no longer be such a drawback. Time (and money) will tell.

I haven't used them since I switched to LCD.

With a 21" CRT depth perception was ~6-8" out of the screen towards you and ~8" into the monitor. Very weird when you first set it up and run the nVidia demo ;)
