Hey, just wondering as i'll probably be upgrading my pc all again soon and i'll haev a spare 285GTX about and i'm not in the habbit of selling old things that may be of use later (e.g using it for trouble shooting a broken pc) so I would probably be bunging it into my mobo for physx. Wondered if anyone does the same and if games actually support it? I know a few like mafia 2 do.

Sell it or keep as spare, physx is lame in current titles and is not worth the extra heat and power consumtion having the 285 as a dedicated physx card.

It is true, having looked at some demo videos I can't say i've really seen any implementation of what i'd consider to be physics in a game. Most of the games just have things like flags which aren't in the normal game but if you have physx enabled they add some flags in to look pretty.

I wouldn't sell it because well I just don't see the need, I'd rather have it as a spare. Well I guess it depends, how much you reckon a 285GTX BFG OC2 would sell for? I see BFG have left the pc world. Bloody typical, i bought an ABIT mobo which has given me nothing but problems only to have them quit on me and now my pc is dieing and I think its a psu problem but its either psu or gpu and my gpu manufacturer has quit on me too. GRRRRRRRRR. Having said that I do feel confident the gpu is not the problem, hence why I asked in the first place about physx.

:EDIT:

@Confused

Seems to be mixed opinions in there. Think I might just keep it as a spare with a 2600k that will be enough for physics anyway probably.
