Hi I don't really know much about html just enough to scrape by. I'm trying to design a simple html newsletter and it seems the best way to do this is pure and simple html not css or anything else. I've tried using dreaweaver but it seems very user unfriendly. Just gauging what people think of fireworks as a web design tool and is it reasonably intuitive from a print designers point of view?

cheers

Fireworks isn't really a web design tool.

How good is your image design skills? To be honest unless they are good or you are willing to put a lot of hours in, then Fireworks won't be very user friendly at all.

You can use Photoshop to knock up a web page and then use the slice tool to slice it up for the web. But Fireworks?......Nah, it's a great app to use for image manipulation for certain web design tasks such as logo's, headers etc in conjunction with other progs and apps, notably the rest of Adobe CS3 and CS4. That's why they call the collection "Creative Suite". :)

But on it's own, Fireworks wont do what it sounds like you want to achieve.

A WYSIWYG editor like Dreamweaver would be more than adequate for a simple HTML task that you want to do, I'd stick with that. There are some excellent tutorials available for DW online in many places.

yep after youtubing fireworks I ended up slicing it in photoshop instead and putting it through dreamweaver.

cheers though
