Just wondering really because I have a build I'm looking to do in the future. Just want to know if they are only any good for itx builds? I have only managed to find ones with one 2 pcie cables?
But if you have an ITX case that allows it then I'd got for a full ATX PSU every time.
I can't agree here. SFX PSUs tend to be shorter so allow more room inside for cables and allow easier air flow.
It really does depend on the case and the PSU.
You wouldn't need any more than 2 pcie connectors anyway for an ITX build as you can only run a single gpu.
Which case are you looking at ? A lot of ITX cases will take an ATX sized psu. If you are going for something like a HTPC case, then you will more than likely need an SFX unit.
i have a 450w modular silverstone psu in an sg05, powering an i7, 16gb ram and a 970.
People can run titans on it, but anything more powerfull and id get the 600w version.
It's tiny, fits quite well. Potentially going to mount the psu at the front of the case so I can put a 240mm radiator in the roof but for now, its fine where it is![]()
Also tend to run hotter and thus be noiser though in my experience. I should have qualified my earlier answer.
Silverstone SFX PSUs are good and I believe that Corsair have just released a range also. But if you have an ITX case that allows it then I'd got for a full ATX PSU every time.
