Anyone use AWS Amazon Lightsail for hosting ?

Ive been looking at alternative webhosts and came across Amazon Lightsail. https://aws.amazon.com/websites/

Although it appears a little more complex to set up, it seems reasonably priced.

Does anyone use them to host websites ? How are they ? Are there any hidden costs ?

Pricing is attractive but the CPU throttling and performance is the biggest issue. It's a good way to learn the EC2 ecosystem and for $3.50 a month for the smallest server, then it's a really handy way to have your own server to play around with. I don't think I'd use it for production though.

For the same price you can get a much better system from Digital Ocean, Vultr, Linode etc.

Friend of mine runs a small wordpress site under this for his daughters business. Seems to have a good impression of it overall and hasn't had any issues.
