I run a small design agency, and at present my accounts are done on a spreadsheet (Numbers) and my invoices in Pages. Contact information is all in the address book, my GTD program is Things etc...

I have a feeling that if I got Filemaker Pro it would be a real asset to the company and make certain things a lot easier, saying that setting it all up how I want may not be particularly easy or fast.

Anyone here use it? and why?

When I worked at Special Reserve all the systems for stock and customer ordering were based on FMP on a Mac netwrork.

Everyone who set up systems said it was very very easy and as an end user I found it extremely easy to pick up as well as quick software for searching and the various databases you made with it connected seemlessly.

I'm only a student, but in my college they use it to run the whole college system, It does fail sometimes, but then again there is not way of getting around that. We also run it on a mac network. It is very customisable.

For what you want it for, I would give the Bento trial a go (if your running a mac network).
