In my Place we are looking at alternatives for our anti-virus. Currently running Symantec Anti-Virus 10.1.7 on the desktops and servers which is centrally updated/mangaed etc. Just looking at options at the moment :)

Wasn't sure If I should post in Enterprise/Server Section:confused:

Thanks all,
Some of our support teams do use roaming profiles so yeah that would be an issue. Can the server side be setup to basically automate the setup procedure at the client end? By this I mean a desktop support person installs the anti-virus from the server and it pulls all the settings down automatically via a config file or similar.

With symantec, it installs via group policy and even versions update without interaction from support.

So for example from 2.7 to 3.0. Could this all be done server side or would support officers need to go around each machine. If the latter a lynch mob would be waiting outside our office. We have around 5000 desktops here:)
