Anyone use old fashioned razors?

Where did you pick the straight razor up from mate. I've been looking for one for ages, they are supposed to give a super smoothe shave. I just can't find them anywhere. I guess thats because the nutters started using them as weapons.

I was bought it as a 21st by my house mates over at uni. I find I get a really good shave with it yeah, but the first few times you dont, your best bet is to read up on how to hsave with it, the most important thing is to make sure your stuble is as moist as possible and use a good soap/oil.

I'd look like Grizzly Adams if I didn't shave for that long!

Its about a centimeter long :D
Probably nothing special for you lot but its more then what most my friends can grow :D

Main reason for not shaving=Evil shavers rash and takes to much time to do it :p :(

Also the plus side to using a straight razor, the lady wont EVER steal it to shave her legs leaving your razor feeling likes its just been plaining a door frame!!

*Spins up angle grinder*

:D

I normally just use a single bladed disposable razor. I don't shave very often so one disposable can last me ages lol.

Mach 3 standard is what I use (on the bits of my face that I actually shave). Anything else seems to drag the hairs out of my face rather than cut them

Can't use electric shavers. Tired Braun, Philishave and so on, but they either don't cut anything but the tiniest stubble, or feel like someone's tearing 200 hairs from my face at a time :(

I feel I'm far too clumsy for a straight razor (insert hilarious decapitation scene here), but I may give the old safety razor a try :)

You will be suprised, as logn as you dont rush yourself, with a straight razor its not as easy as you would think to cut yourself. As with normal razors, as long as you dont push too hard or pull the blade in a slicing motion you will be totally ok.

Just dont sneeze when doing your sideburns, or else the next thing you pull out the sink is your ear :D

That's the trouble. Both things may happen :p
