Anyone use Solwise NET-PL-1000M Homeplugs

This uses 'Gigle's MediaXtream chip' like all the other gigabit homeplugs. Heard some conflicting things around the net. Mind you same goes for homeplugs full stop. Anyone got gigabit homeplugs and care to share?

As far as I know, and I may be wrong here, but the Gigabit Homeplug standard has not yet been finished so any products claiming speeds in excess of the Homeplug AV (200mb) standard will be manufacturer specific. Im not saying there's anything wrong with them, they will proberbly work fine and faster than Homeplug AV, but like with the wireless "Draft 802.11n" stuff that was around before the standard was ratified you may find stuff from manufacturer X won't talk to stuff from manufacturer Y. Just something to bear in mind if you add more to your network.

I have really never tested it tbh nor read any reviews. It doesn't seem like gigabit speed. Maybe the same as 100mb ethernet.

Better than wifi which is all it needs to be unless you wanna start drilling holes and routing cat5.

but like Welshdragon says it isn't an official standard yet so tread carefully.

Mine just arrived and so far so good. No need to press any of the buttons as they are already paired. Bliue light indicates connection >100mbps and so far my htpc is loving it. Just updating my nas drive to give xbmc a whirl and see if my chronic lag issues have gone!

What util/method can I use to see what transfer speeds I'm getting?
