I couldn't believe how awesome this software was! Up until I discovered it, I had used WMM (just don't, even if you haven't, steer clear!), and Adobe Premiere (not bad, significant improvement over WMM!!). Then I found Vegas, with it's myriad features over all predecessors, and ability to encode in HD, it was just so professional and well built I couldn't believe it!
I'm quite at home with Vegas 7 now (quiet a steep learning curve), but I've only just started dabbling around with the other members of the family, like Sound Forge 9 (looks completely spectacular!), ACID Pro 6, CineScore 1, and DVD Architect 4 (much better than Adobe Encore, in my experience).
