Hi everyone as the titles says has anyone used a data cabinet for a 3d printer enclosure?, I have a I think its a 15u floor standing data cabinet ive never used, since I bought a slightly taller one for my backup server etc, its definatley big enough i think I may have to cut a hole in it so the filiment spool is outside, not sure yet.
Would it need to be insulated? my new printer when it arrives is a Creality Ender-3 S1 Pro. Any info/advice would be very welcome.

To maybe in the future print using some other filiment types, nothing definite at the moment but since i have the cabinet gavering dust it was a just thought, I already have an WANHAO duplicator i3 thats been used to print some bits and bobs but only in PLA.

The problem with permanently enclosing printers that aren't meant to enclosed to print say ABS or ASA is that things like the PSU and control board (and stuff on the control) get hotter than they like.

So you either need to only enclose it when printing such filaments or take the PSU and control board (PSU at least) out of the enclosure.
