I'm looking at getting some new hosting for my domains and have found what seems to be a good offer on www.patrickinternet.co.uk

£25pa seems pretty good for the service they are offering and they are also based near to where I live.

I was with qiq previously and before that I was with tsohost and haven't really had problems with either, just moved from tsohost as they put the package I was on up from £25pa to £35pa :(

I did take a look at the ochostreview site but thought it seemed a bit outdated and looks like it's been hit by bots/spammers

If anyone has any other suggestions for webhosting I'd appreciate it as I've just really been paying every year but think I need a change.

Not heard of them, but I would be pretty wary of a host that claims to offer 'unlimited' bandwidth and disk space, especially for a low price. No host can give you 'unlimited' bandwidth - these resources cost money. Either they're lying and they have hidden limits, or the site will be dog-slow because the server will be getting hammered. Best to go with a host that's upfront about limits.

I was thinking it was wierd they could offer unlimited bandwidth, I noticed in their T&C's they say if the server gets hammered because of your site they will contact you and possibly suspend the account.

Might keep looking around :)

I don't really have much bandwidth, about 7-10gb/month, was going to continue with qiq but I miss having subdomains :(

Honestly. We need a sticky for this.

Tsohost/vidahost.

Also hate the use of cheesing istock photos on their site too.

Is it just me, or do at least two of those 'testimonials' sound made up?

thats my thinking too, English is too good etc. imo testimonials are completely pointless as the owner will never put up a bad one yet some reason people like to see them

although i know most do it, i dislike it when companies show people with smiling faces all over the site, it's a hosting company so imo at best there should be pictures of servers.

I'm sticking with Tshost, their support is second to none, they actually view the customer forum & one of the managers ( Darren) seems to practically spend his life on call as if you make a post with any problem he usually replies within minutes

I've just gone back to tsohost :)

At least I know they will be ok as I was with them before :D

Went for the Pro package as then I can put on my other domains and also got a free one :D

Yup can defo vouch for that. Was working late a few weeks and gots replies at after 2am in the morning. Not sure how many hosts would do that.

All other times, I've never had to wait more than 10 mins for a reply to a support request.

Hmm, another vote here for TSOHost, i have used their small and cheap hosting services for years, and recently moved the first of my big business sites onto the clustered platform. Both Darren and Adam have been excellent, ive had practically 24Hr support whilst moving across with help in configs and all sorts above and beyond normal support.

I cant praise them enough really. A very satisfied business (and personal) customer :)

I too use TSOHost, and the support is absolutely top- notch. The guy(s) answering the phone are extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Tickets also seem to be picked up in minutes- even on a Sunday evening or some other silly time.
