Hi All,

I'll be moving soon to a new house with a master socket in a different room, I'll look at getting hard wires in but in the meantime I need another solution (renting and new build so need to check with landlord etc.).

I'm thinking a Cisco switch (2960 8 port) where the router will be with 2 x powerline uplinks to the study with another Cisco switch and 2 x powerline uplinks? I have all the kit hence my thinking.

The broadband will only be 17Mb max so bandwidth is not the issue but latency and reliability will be key.

Alternatively I do have 3x3 Ubiquiti AP's available.

Thoughts? Apart from the hardwire is best which I know.

LCAP over Powerline wouldn't gain you anything.

You could create a two separate Powerline networks by setting different encryption keys but they'll be sharing the same available bandwidth.

It would bring redundancy between the 2 switches? Suspect it wouldn't aggregate the bandwidth though...
